I'm baaaack! Sooner than expected even. I missed a bunch of Weilan Week posts that I get to go back through now, which should be fun! But this post is a cat post. Seeing all those photos of naye's cats a while back made me want to do that also.

One fandom thing first:
It's sylleblahsome's birthday. They're not active here (yet! I've been informed that they're joining the party soon, which is good news, because they're delightful) but today would be a good time to check out their WIP. Any other time would also be a good time. It's a Guardian cat cafe AU featuring witches! Witch twins, even! The writing style is fast-paced and snappy, they're doing some fascinating worldbuilding/magic system building here, and the interactions between the characters are wonderfully cute and funny and sparkly. I love it a lot.

Okay now my cat. This is my Cora! She's 9 years old; I've had her since I was a teenager and she went to college with me, and I'm pretty sure she's the most loyal cat on the planet. Maybe also the most floppy. These are some of my favorite photos of her from 2019. And two from 2018 because they've very good. I, um...I had trouble narrowing it down.

I tried to take a picture of her in her lil wool felt basket but she wasn't having it.


Rat: Hey Cora let's take a selfie in the window!
Cat: SIT ON SHOULDERS.


There's a hallway that runs along the staircase where we live now, and she loves it because she gets to be taller than me (and launch herself onto me when I pass.)


Sunbeeeeeam.


Too far away for cuddles.

I can't walk away from an open drawer or this will happen instantly.


A lot of these photos happened in bed, clearly. Lying in bed is our main shared hobby.

You should post your cat pics, too! Scrawny cats have their appeal. All cats have their appeal. Everyone in the fandom should post their cats. (or dogs, I guess, dogs are...fine. lol.)

But yes, Cora is a bodacious babe, and I'm glad you like the photos. Please by all means enjoy them as needed! I will convey your praise and affection to her. :D

The "cat's dinner" interpretation isn't the reason I picked this screenname, but I had noticed it before and I'm completely pleased with it.

Cora is a beauty! The cat I'm currently ~fostering~ does that push-head-in-hand thing when I'm trying to write, too. CATS. Love the long cat pose. Does she let you rub her belly?

Thank you thank you! She's a pretty kitty. I'm glad to hear she's not the only weirdo with the head-pushing behavior. She accepts belly rubs, and I can even put my face into the floof, although she silently judges me for being a strange ape with degenerate proclivities when I do.

Her determination in the "SIT ON SHOULDERS" pic made me chuckle. Every other picture is mild or sedate, but that one truly showcases her motivations in life.
She only gets worked up about two things in life: shoulder rides and closed doors when I'm on the wrong side. Everything else is treated with benevolent detachment, but when she's got one of those two thing on her mind, there's no stopping her.
