Some of the stuff I delete is perma-deleted on the spot, but I do have overflowing documents of cut material -- mostly things that I thought maybe I would want to add back in while I was working on a particular scene, so those should probably be konmari'd, but I do also keep stuff that I think might be useful in other contexts. I'm a little doubtful as to whether I'll ever actually use any of it, but who knows?
And I love this soft moment where ZYL is still being so careful and SW is so drawn in, despite his secrets, and then finally they come together, ahhh. Eee, thanks! I think I must have been circling around the question of which of them would give in first and drop the plausible deniability. The way that evening shook out in the story, Shen Wei was ready for kissing but not ready to initiate -- but I still like how they both give each other hesitating quasi-permission here, so I thought it might be fun to share it.
