Oh. Huh. Well, that is a totally different perspective. Things go so badly on the large scale in the fic that I figured on one level or another it would look alarmist/tend to freak people out more, if anything. But, okay, yeah, I see how it could be an optimistic thing too! The whole plot is about fighting back, not being helpless frightened victims.
