I am similar with spiders -- fundamentally creep me out a bit, but I don't want to kill them, and I find them easier to take if I talk to them like a cat and scold them for being silly babies as I put them in a glass and toss them outside.
...But they should not be hanging around things that you are going to pick up or put on your face, N O.
