Ah, the Granada Holmes was FORMATIVE for me. Jeremy Brett is Sherlock Holmes the way Kevin Conroy is Batman and Mark Hamill is the Joker in my mind, first and always. (The Last Vampyre was AWFUL, but I never objected to any of the other changes they made to other stories, not even "that" one).
That being said, last year we also watched some of the Russian Holmes (The Lenfilm ones) and I have been thus far impressed with them. When you finish re-watching the Granada ones, they may be worth a try if you are still in a Holmesian mood. :)
